As an experienced counsellor and hypnotherapist (see: about me), I can help you to get back on track.
Many life events impact on how we think, feel and behave and our 'normal' coping structure can fail us if we are overwhelmed.
Events such as house moves, job/career changes, additions to the family, relationship problems and loss/bereavement can really affect how we face each day... sometimes things can get tough... a sense of isolation may set in and a general lack of control over things which have always been easy to manage, could become apparent.
As well as being able to contact me about counselling and hypnotherapy sessions privately, please feel free to visit my website for the latest information, news and links on stress and how to manage it.
So, what is stress?
You may have heard of the 'fight or flight' response - this is a very primitive and natural process our body goes through to prepare us to fight or flee from a situation that is perceived to be threatening. For example, early man being faced with a sabre tooth tiger would have found enormous strength to attempt to escape or fight off the deadly animal, thus 'flight or flight' was invaluable for physical survival.
In today's society we experience the same response however we are usually dealing with deadlines, rushing from one place to another, difficulties at work or home and our bodies can be flooded with stress hormones that can become overwhelming and cause problems physically and emotionally.
Have a look at the following symptoms of stress - maybe some of these are familiar to you when you are feeling overwhelmed?
